Second level NZ domains
For the first time ever "second level" domains like the .co in ".co.nz" and the .org in ".org.nz" are going to become optional. You'll be able to get .nz names with them, without them, or both. For example you will be able to register yourdomain.NZ as well as yourdomain.CO.NZ
Excellent. In fact, most .nz domain names registered before 9am on 30 May 2012, could get the shorter version if they want it.
